Those were better times for Mexico. Nowadays everything’s screwed up… and everyone want’s to be like the people from the united states…

Okay…my only question is why did they have to skip over, from Ecuador, the other part of South America…i.e. Colombia? I’m Colombian so whenever i watch thi or see Latin American based movies, etc. and Colombia’s not talked about, i always wonder why that is.

Does anyone know what the name of the town in the arid foothills is at 6:42? Looks like the location (state) could be Michoacan, Zacatecas, Durango, Chihuahua or Valle Central of Oaxaca. It would be interesting to see how how this city has expanded on Google Earth 65 years later.
From Junin, Lima, Loreto, Ica? There are several different species to choose from. Anything from a Pardusco to an Oropendola, Mountain-Tanager, Chlorophonia, Tapaculo, or maybe even a Tinamou?
It really hasn’t changed all that much in 60+ years. I really think 6:57 is taken in California. You wouldn’t think the Mexican country roads would be paved that well in 1944. 7:04 is somewhere in the Sierra Madre Oriental (Hidalgo maybe?)

Yes, it’s real. The aztecs built their city above a lake because they saw the eagle eating a snake above a “nopal” or cactus. That was their legend and the reason that Mexico City is above a lake, but not the whole city.

wow..and it seems the aztecians, if you looked closely on that map thing, left a bit of the lake so it would be known to the people of mexico about the legend so they wouldn’t have forgotten their works on the city, it appears.

actually is not a legend, i know what you mean with “real legend” but…a legend is something that isnt comprobed the mexico city was built over a valley thats why people call it “The Valley of Mexico” and this is why the mexico city is sinking every year because the water under the city is running out jeje .
